Bawtry Motor Auction

Bawtry Motor Auction (BMA) are one of the country's oldest motor auctions and still a family run business. Their first "Grand Show & Motor Auction" was held in 1947.

Bawtry Motor Auction is situated on the A638 nine miles south of Doncaster within easy reach of both the M1 and the A1.

Vehicle sales days at Bawtry are Monday, Wednesday and Friday commencing at 6pm with the main dealer section starting at 7:15pm.

Motorbike sale are held regularly each month with viewing from 4pm and sale at 6pm.

Information for Buyers

• A deposit of £200 or 10% of the hammer price (whichever is greater) is required;
• The balance for the vehicle must be paid for by noon the day following the sale;
• Payment can be made by cash, credit or debit card*
• Buyers Premium is payable on top of the hammer price of each vehicle purchased, details of which are published within the auction office.

*Surcharges; Cash - 1%, Credit Card - 3%, Debit Card - £1 (all charges + VAT)

How to Sell a Car

To enter a vehicle you require:

• V5 registration document. If not available then proof of ownership;
• MOT where applicable;
• Tax Disc where applicable;
• All / any service history;
• Any additional documentation that may help sell the vehicle;
• A completed signed entry form;
• An evening or mobile telephone number for the day of the sale;
• When completing an entry form you can specify a reserve price for your vehicle. If the auctioneer reaches your reserve it will be sold outright, if a price below your reserve is achieved, a provisional bid will be taken, and you will receive a telephone call during the sale to see if the bid is acceptable to you. Please be available to take the call;
• Upon the sale of your car, payment will be posted to you by cheque four working days after it is sold;
• An entry fee is payable at the time of entry and commission of 7.5% + VAT is charged upon sale of the vehicle (commission is subject to a minimum charge of £40+VAT).

Bawtry Motor Auction have recently had planning permission granted for a bespoke 12 acre auction site on which work will begin shortly.
